Show Us Where You Live Friday - Master Bedroom

It's Friday and you know what that means! Yep, another edition of Show Us Where You Live Friday! This week is master bedrooms!! I love the master bedroom in our house and can't wait to share it with you all. Like many of the weeks before, I will link you to my previous post on this from this past November. I didn't include the master bathroom last week because it was on the same post as the bedroom. So, this week you get both the master bedroom and master bathroom. Our bathroom is so big and I love it too! So, I won't make you wait any longer....follow THIS LINK to go see our master suite! (I even show the insides of my closets - eek! They don't quite look like that now!!)

See you next week. I think the theme is garages and yards...

Show Us Where You Live Friday - Lots of Rooms!

It's another edition of Show Us Where You Live Friday! I missed last week, so I'm going to catch up this week! Last week was bathrooms and this week is laundry, bonus and playrooms! I don't have a bonus room, but I do have all the others! And again, I have already posted these pictures, so I'm going to leave you with links to all the previous postings. Hope you enjoy the tour!

Follow THIS LINK to see my girl's bathroom. It's a jack-n-jill style in between their bedrooms.

Follow THIS LINK to see Nana's bathroom. I have already shared this bathroom when I showed her bedroom - they were both on the same post. But here it is again in case you missed it!

Follow THIS LINK to see the half bathroom. It's red and I love it!!

And the master bathroom? Well, those pictures are on the same post as the master bedroom. Next week we show off our master bedrooms, so I will wait until next Friday to post that link. But if you wander around some of the previous links, you will find it. :)

Follow THIS LINK to see my laundry room and our cubbie area as you come in from the garage. And now the playroom.

I just realized today that I had not posted pictures of our playroom. When I did the tour back in November, our playroom looked like
this and this and this. You see those posts were posted the first of September and that room looked like that until DECEMBER! Very frustrating. The front of the house STILL isn't completely finished today!! But that's another blog post for another day. Now, onto the playroom!

Here is a photo of the door. It is immediately to the right as you come in our front door. This is a shot of it from the dining room.

This is what you see when you are looking through the doorway. It's not a very big room, like 10x10 I think. But, once we don't need a playroom, we will turn this into our office.

Another shot from the corner right behind the door. It is really nice to have a space for all of their toys!

Another view from the opposite corner of the doorway. You can see a little of our front door there in the left side of the doorway to the playroom. I took these pictures this morning and the sun comes up on this side of the house. It is always very bright in here in the mornings.

Here is a view standing in front of the large window. On our original house plan, this room didn't have a closet in it. I knew I needed the closet space, so I added two! We pushed the room out more and added these. I am so happy with that decision!!

This is the closet on the right. This is the girl's closet for all of their games and toys. I love all the shelves!

This is the closet on the left, right behind the door to this room. This is MY closet. This is where I store all of my scrapbooking stuff. I had these shelves custom measured to fit my bags and albums - and they fit like a glove!! I have a table set up right now in the dining room and some of my stuff in on it. So, everything isn't in the closet right now. Wish I wasn't so far behind on my albums!! Someday, someday I will get caught up!!

Well, there you have it. I hope you enjoyed the tour and come back next week for the master suite tour. Have a great weekend!

Show Us Where You Live Friday - Home Offices

It's Friday and you know what that means! Another Show Us Where You Live Friday. This week is Home Offices. Currently we don't have a separate room for our home office. We are using part of our breakfast area. It works great right now. Our plans are once the girls are older and we no longer need a playroom, we will convert it to our home office. But for now...this is it.

The large corner desk is my work station. I work from home part time for my best friend and their real estate business. I enjoy it a lot and like being able to contribute some to our monthly income. The smaller desk to the left of my desk is the girl's computer. They both love to play on the computer and it is nice for them to have their own - now they don't fight to use mine. However, they do fight to use theirs!! We have to set a timer and it is a great exercise in patience and taking turns.

Thanks again for stopping by on this tour and I'll see you next week!

Show Us Where You Live Friday - Children's Rooms

Welcome everyone from Kelly's Korner. It's that time of the week when we get to show off where we live. This week is so exciting because I get to show you my two girls most precious rooms. OK...I may be a little biased. Anyway, back in November, I did a whole house tour since we had just built, moved in and got settled in our wonderful new home. Instead of re-doing all I did before, I am going to give you the links to the previous posts. I warn you, I have two girls...so there is a lot of pink!

Click here to be taken to my oldest, Rachel's room.

Click here to be taken to my youngest, Rebekah's room.

I hope you enjoyed this tour and I hope to see you back again next week!

Show Us Where You Live Friday - Dining Rooms

Another Show Us Where You Live Friday, brought to you by Kelly's Korner. Yeah, I know this is not technically Friday. But, I have a lot to do tomorrow and I was afraid I would forget it if I didn't do it now. And I know I can set it to publish tomorrow.... :)

This week is Dining Rooms! We do have a "formal" dining room -- but it is not being used as that. Currently, it really isn't getting used much at all. We recently moved the pod chair and rug into there for lack of a better place for them. Once we got them in there, it kind of made the room a little more cozy and more of a "sitting room" feel. We have tossed around the idea of instead of spending a lot of money on a dining room table and hutch, maybe we could take that money and get a nice (slightly used) baby grand piano?? We're not seriously looking or anything - we're just not "formal" people. We're trying to think of other uses we could use the room for. I would love for my girls to take piano lessons -- and to do that, we would need a piano!! Oh well, here are the photos of the room. Enjoy - and I would love any other ideas as to what we could do!

Here is a view into the dining room from our family room. I love the red, it is called Stolen Kiss from Sherwin Williams.

Here is a shot from the far wall of the dining room looking back at the entryway into our house.

And a shot from one of the corners, looking at the other corner. You can see part of each of the archways that lead into/out of the dining room. Ignore the fan and the rug, this photo was actually taken this past fall for this post. At that time, the dining room was temporarily my girl's playroom.

And here is a shot from the window, looking into the family room. Yeah, this photo was from last fall too. You can tell since the couch isn't under the far window like in my post on family rooms.

In addition to my red walls, I love my chandelier. My husband doesn't so much because he has rammed his head into it many times. He is ready to raise it up some since we don't have much of anything in there right now.

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed this week's tour and I hope to see you back next week. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend and be safe!

Show Us Where You Live Friday - Living/Family Rooms

Last Friday, it was kitchens. This week Kelly's Korner is showing off living/family rooms. I was excited to do this one because since I last showed my family room, we have rearranged! If you want to take a look at my first post about our family room and see the changes, click here.

I like to call it the family room, we don't have two living areas and this is where the family is most of the time. About three months ago, we decided to open up the family room more by moving the couch over in front of the window. I wish it could be centered beneath the window, but it just would not work with the fireplace, coffee table and end table.

Here is what you see as you come in the front door. There is still some decorating to be done, like accessorize the end of our entertainment cabinet. I would also like to find a better place for this red chair, or dress it up with some pictures or something. There is a picture on the floor beside it, I just haven't decided 100% that I want it there. To see the history of the red chair, you need to click here and here.

If you look to the left as you come in the front door, this is another view into the family room. The red room is our dining room, although we have no dining room furniture in there yet. Now it is more of a sitting room.

Here is another view from the dining/sitting room. Ignore those green tubs and the big box on the left. I did some major cleaning out of the play room last weekend. The green tubs are toys I want to keep. We just need to take them up to the attic. The box is full of stuff I will sell or give away.

Now we're moving on into the family room. Eventually we would like to replace our couch and recliner pieces. This has been nice for a while, but it is really starting to show some wear and tear. Jon Paul and I are usually in the duel recliner piece. The single recliner belongs to Nana. I also hope to find a window treatment for the window. I have thought instead of a valance or anything, maybe put a scripture or quote going across the top of the window. What do you think?

This is the view if you come in from the garage. Here you can see where our hardwood floor meets the tile floor.

And this view is from the office/breakfast area, looking back towards the front door. Here you get a good look at our trey ceiling. Love the higher ceilings and also the arched doorways.

This is another one of my favorite things about the house. I love my fireplace and mantle. When we built the house, I insisted we have a mantle. I want to have something to showcase pictures and that is where my nativity goes every Christmas. I don't know where I would put it if I didn't have my mantle! The fireplace has gas logs in it - very low maintenance and is the only thing in the house that runs on gas.

In order to get a good shot of the mantle area, I had to turn off the flash. I love this picture of my girls. It was taken last November. They have already changed so much since then. Rachel's two front teeth are completely in and their hair is much longer now.

This is the new rug we purchased when we rearranged the furniture in here. We already had a rug, but it was too small once we opened up the room more. We loved this rug, but it has become a lot of trouble. For some reason, it continually sheds. We have vacuumed this rug hundreds of times - to the point we think that soon, there won't be any fibers left in the rug. And remember when I blogged about this? Well, every time we run the Roomba, all it does it make a bigger mess. We end up having to take the dust buster and vacuum up behind it. Hmm...that kind of defeats the purpose of having the Roomba. Anyway, I put this in here in hopes that maybe some of you might have some suggestions as to what we can do with this rug. Anything?!?!

Thank you for coming and I hope you come back!

Guess What We Got?!?

We got a Roomba!! We actually got it back in December. We love it! It does really well in getting the hardwood and tile cleaned up. It also cleans the carpet good too. Jon Paul has been in charge of his new "son" and has enjoyed playing with him and programming him. The girls wanted to name him, but couldn't agree on a name. We came up with Mike or Mike-E. Mike after Mike Rowe on Dirty Jobs and it is also round like Mike on Monsters, Inc. The other name was WALL-E, after the movie and since he picked up trash. He gets called WALL-E most of the time.

Well, WALL-E cleans the wood floor all on his own every Monday and Wednesday. He starts up, cleans and goes home - all with no help from anyone. Smart kid! He never complains either. I'm really liking him! He usually cleans the tile on the weekends and maybe one or more bedrooms that have carpet.

Welcome to the family WALL-E Mike!

Had to share this video with you. We came across it this past week and thought it was so funny. In it is actually a Scooba which uses water to "mop and scrub" the floor. There are a lot of funny videos on YouTube - just do a search for pets and roomba!

New House Tour Part 13

Last, but not least, the back of the house and backyard. We chose our lot because of its size. We love how much yard we have, especially the backyard. So, for our last tour...let's go out back!

Here is a shot from the steps of our deck. You can see the door leading into the house there on the right. The window straight ahead is in the family room.

Standing on one end of the deck looking across. You can see our new bargain deck furniture we got in the seasons end clearance sale at Home Depot! The two windows there just past the deck are the two windows in the master bedroom.

No, standing on the opposite corner, looking across. The two windows there on that corner are in the breakfast area. The brick wall straight ahead is the end of Nana's bathroom.

And here you have a shot of the entire back of the house. You can see the whole deck now. It makes a nice garage for the girl's jeep! You can kind of see just how large our backyard is in this picture. I have a few more to come in this post.

Another view of the back of the house. Here you can see the two windows in Nana's bedroom.

Here is the larger side of the backyard. This side comes up on the master bedroom side of the house. That little window there on the side of the house, that is the window in the master bathroom. We will be getting a new trampoline this spring and it will probably go in this part of the backyard.

This is the smaller part of the backyard. This is on the other three bedroom side of the house. The double gate is there, close to the extra parking pad. The two windows on this side are the ones in Rebekah's bedroom. I think next spring Nana and the girls may plant a garden over here.

Now, to see just how vast the backyard is. I am standing in the corner on the garage side of the house, looking straight down to the other end of the backyard. See how big it is? So wonderful! It's level and not full of trees and tree stumps like our old backyard!

How could I leave the backyard without showing off our playset one more time. I have posted about it before, but here it is again! The girls love it and I'm happy we were able to get this for them.

Well, there you have it! Almost the entire house! The only room that wasn't featured on the tour was the playroom, AKA the "leak room!" As soon as everything gets fixed/repaired, I promise I will post pictures. Sometime we hope to even get formal dining room furniture too! So, you'll just have to keep coming back! Thanks for being a part of the tour, I have enjoyed playing tour guide!

New House Tour Part 12

Today let's take a look at the garage and some outside shots of the house. We'll start the tour going out into the garage from the house. Those two doors across the way is to our closet. It's full and we're in need of some serious garage organization system. Hopefully this will come soon. A lot of stuff that is in here can be hung up or put on a shelf.

We have most of the boxes unpack and we've been able to park two cars in here most of the time. What we need now is some serious garage organization systems. Here is a view back towards the door that takes you into the house.

A look into the garage from the driveway. Nana's green bug is missing from the picture. It stays inside with the van.

In this photo you get a little better picture of the closet. This closet has one of the large arch top windows in it. We installed blinds on the window and keep them closed all the time. The original plans didn't have a closet here, we added it to give us more storage space. There are shelves on either side of the window. I have my cropping tables and chairs stored in here. It's a great space for them!

And now a view of the garage with the door closed. I love the garage door. There isn't a door in our neighborhood just like it. There are several similar ones, but not one just like it! That window there by the trash cans is Rachel's bedroom window.

Moving back just a bit and you can see the side of the house. Those two windows there on the side are Rebekah's bedroom windows.

Another view of the side of the house. You can see the extra parking pads we have there. This is where Jon Paul parks and is also a great place for us to back into out of the garage so we can pull straight out of the driveway. At the end of the parking pad, there is a double gate that leads to our backyard.

Ahhh, the beautiful front door. The door we waited and waited for. Isn't it just beautiful? I love it!

And now, here is our home. An outside view of the whole house. It's not perfect, you can see that the EIFS is torn off the window on the right. This is the leak area. It's hopefully going to be all repaired soon. I'll have to post a new photo once everything is the way it should be!

Tomorrow we'll take a look around the backyard and the back of the house. So, stick with me for one more day. I'll see you soon!

New House Tour Part 11

Welcome back! It's been nice seeing you everyday. Today we're going down a short hallway that leads to/from the garage. This hallway is home to another favorite of mine...the cubbies!! They are so nice. Also off this hallway is my laundry room. So, let's jump in and get started.

Here's a view looking down the short hallway. You can't see them in the photo, but there on the right side, just past the picture is where the cubbies are. And the doorway there on the right leads to the laundry room. Straight ahead, that door takes you to the garage. You can see where our refrigerator magnets ended up...on the garage door. I kind of like them there. It also makes for a nice little play area.

And here are the cubbies. My sister, Cynthia, and I found the hooks at Hobby Lobby. They have worked great. Rachel has the cubbie on the left and Rebekah's is on the right. They hang their backpacks on the outside hook and their coats on the back hook. We keep all of our church stuff there on the top shelf, which includes all their Awana's stuff. The basket is a catch all. At the time of this photo it had their Halloween stuff in it. The pictures that are sitting in Rachel's cubbie are ones to be hung up in the playroom...once it gets returned back to normal.

And now, take a look at my green laundry room! I painted it the same green that was in Rebekah's room. It looks more green in here since there aren't any windows in here. We recently purchased the second, small refrigerator. I'm so happy to have it! It gives me more freezer space that I've been wanting and a dedicated space to keep all of our special drinks. Now I will have more room in our nice refrigerator for food and leftovers!! But see those things on the right? Let's take another look...

Yep, here they are again. THESE ARE MY FAVORITE THINGS! Worth every single penny. Wish I had owned them forever!! So thankful that I have them now!!!

Just in case you want another look, here ya go. And you won't believe how quiet they are! I have to really look to see if they are running!! Any they sing to you when they are done. Talk about making laundry enjoyable!

Standing beside the refrigerator, you can the door to the laundry room. See that white cabinet by the door? That is Jon Paul's wiring/networking/don't know what else box. He had this installed by special request and has worked well. Don't ask me what it is all about...it's his baby.

And we've made it full circle. You can see out the door and the garage door again. I must say, I really love my laundry room. I intentionally wanted to make it pleasant and enjoyable. I feel I have achieved my goal!

We're almost done! I think we'll be done with the tour in two days. So, tomorrow and the next day and we'll be done! Thanks again for touring. See you tomorrow!
